Staff Accountant

We are a fast growing, progressive, organization looking to add great people to our Financial Group. We currently have an open position for a Staff Accountant. As part of our team, you will work in a high energy, professional, environment supporting the general accounting and financial processes of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update accounting records and files
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist preparing documents for audits
  • Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes
  • Support timely monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance general ledger accounts
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Assist with multi-state registration and compliance matters
  • Assist with the annual budget and interim forecasting processes
  • Other miscellaneous assignments as identified by the Accounting Manager

Requirements and Skills

  • Similar experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of an accounting information system and/or third party payroll system is a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Confidentiality and integrity
  • Degree in Accounting is a plus
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
